Bob Lemon Scrapbook : scrapbook, 1944-1945.

Newspaper clippings from 1944 and 1945 of the military baseball career of Bob Lemon. He served in the Navy and was stationed in California and the South Pacific. The scrapbook has newspaper articles covering baseball games between Navy and Marine baseball teams from 1944 and 1945. Teams mentioned are the Center Bluejackets from San Diego Training Center, the Aiea Dodgers from the South Pacific and the Kaneohe Klippers from Hawaii. Bob Lemon's military baseball career shows how he transitioned from a third baseman to a pitcher. An item of note is glued on the first page, Lemon's "Navy Training Course Certificate", dated July 14, 1944.
